ICIC Summer School
The International School for future Information Professionals
Due to the insufficient number of participants for our ICIC summer school we are obliged to cancel this year’s course.
The ICIC organizers have a long tradition in organizing conferences for Information Professionals in the area of new trends in scientific and patent information.
The ICIC Summer School aims at introducing newcomers to the area of Professional Information work. Enterprises use many different tools to share and acquire information (e.g. traditional databases, intranet, web search engines), but often they do it in a very inefficient and cheap but time consuming way.
This ICIC Summer School gives participants theoretical and practical knowledge of web, database engines and commercial offers for state of the art scientific and patent information products.
Future Patent Information Professionals from industry with less than 2 years experience. Future search experts from national patent offices, Universities, R&D Organizations and Intellectual Property workers are invited as well.
The Summer School will take place at the Hotel Savoyen in Vienna on 1 and 2 July 2010. Places are limited, so please register early to avoid disappointment. Registrations to attend will close on 20 June, if not already sold out.
The registration fee is 499 € (plus 20% VAT) and includes 2 lunches, coffee breaks and a local dinner (Heurigen) in Vienna.
The programme includes an introduction about Information Professionals in Industry and an introduction about Information Retrieval. The second day is dedicated to leading international Information Vendors with an overview and ‘hands on' approach to innovative information tools for R&D, Science and Industry.
This two-day seminar will give future search professionals from industry unrivalled access to the know-how and expertise of different Information Professionals, including online access to different commercial information products.
