Stefan Härtinger

Stefan Härtinger graduated in organic chemistry from the Technical University Vienna, and received a doctoral degree for his work on single crystal surfaces at the Fritz-Haber Institute of the Max-Planck Gesellschaft in Berlin. In 1997, he joined the European Patent Office in Munich as a patent examiner in the field of pure and applied organic chemistry. He passed the European qualifying examination for professional representatives at the EPO and holds a master's degree in Intellectual Property Law and Management from the University Strasbourg. As a legal and technical expert in chemical patents he supports the patent search and examination training activities and contributes to the development of new search tools. Stefan Härtinger has been lecturing on various patent related topics and is co-author of the Science of Synthesis reference work for preparative methods in synthetic chemistry.
