LexisNexis - Semantic Searching; BRIC and ASIAN content.

LexisNexis, a leading global provider of content-enabled workflow solutions, has added full-text patent records from 'BRIC' countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) to its TotalPatent(tm) research service - extending its market leading position in patent research by offering information from 27 patent authorities worldwide, as well as bibliographic and abstract information from 96 authorities.

Semantic Search is not intended to replace a searcher's Boolean query.  It enhances that query by making intelligent connections, in the context of the search, to bring additional related results for the searcher's consideration.  This is especially helpful when terminology in a patent is vague or obscure. In such an instance, the words used in a patent claim may be so vague that a precise Boolean query would not return important patent documents.
