Erik Nemeth, Systems Analyst and Data Specialist in Research Databases at the Getty Research Institute (GRI), holds a BA in Computer Science and a PhD in Vision Science from the University of California at Berkeley. After a decade in the software-development industry in the United States and Europe, Erik provides data analysis and systems support for the three research databases—a bibliography of the literature of art history, Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, the Getty Provenance Index® databases—at the GRI. Erik also conducts database-user surveys and researches on the future of bibliographic databases in Web 2.0, and he has presented on both topics in the past two years at the NFAIS Humanities Roundtable annual meeting.
